The correct answer is:
CHECK THE SOLUTION.

(i)

Sol. Fe 3 O 4 can be written as FeO.Fe 2 O 3 . In FeO, Fe has O.N + 2, In Fe 2 O 3 O.N of Fe = + 3.

(ii)

Sol. , N 1 and N 2 has O.N = 0, because they are linked to each other, For N 3 , x + 0 + 0 + 1 = 0 ⇒ x = –1

(iii)

Sol. 5Cl → 5Cl – , Eq. wt. = = 35.5

Cl → ClO 3 – , Eq. wt = = 7.1

Total Eq. wt. of Cl 2 = 35.5 + 7.1 = 42.6
